Scooter’s 1516th bar, first visited in 2022.

After visiting the brewery and the distillery, I realized I need a Guinness to make St. Patrick’s Day official. This looked like my best chance at a Guinness out of the places that were still open. But no luck, no Guinness.

I had a giant-ass mug of Budweiser, followed by a mixed drink using Bailey’s Irish Creme so I could have at least something Irish.

Boot Hill Distillery

I don’t normally drink distilled spirits. They’ve never interested me and never tasted good to me. But this place just looked too interesting to pass up.

The building has a fascinating history. It is on the grounds of the original Boot Hill Cemetery, and was built on the footprint of a school that as built here in the 1870s after the bodies were moved. The current building served as City Hall and also housed the police station, the fire station, and served other roles that I can’t remember.

I had their Standard Flight, and against my expectations each shot was tastier than the previous as I progressed from left to right. Surprisingly to me, I learned that I might actually like gin.

Dodge City Brewing

Scooter’s 1514th bar, first visited in 2022.

I was spending an evening in Dodge City and decided to check out their local brewery.

There’s quite a bit of merchandise available, and pizza is served.

I had a flight with their Uncle Johnny’s Cream Ale, 1872 Lager, Big Nose Kate IPA, Where’s Bob (Belgian Strong Dark Ale), Squirrel Tooth Alice DIPA, and Black Blizzard Porter.
