Scooter’s 1864th bar, first visited in 2025.

This was the third and final stop of our NYE afternoon bar crawl. They were serving a prime rib dinner and we ended up eating here, but I’m not a fan of any of the sides so I decided to get something else. This place is well known for its pizza but I was warned that the kitchen was backed up and it could take an hour, so I opted for various appetizers.

The back room used to be a bowling alley and the sign on top of the building used to say “Biff’s Bowl Bar”, but the letters for the middle word are no longer there. While all the bowling equipment is gone, they kept the lanes and filled the space in-between with additional lane boards to make one big continuous floor. There was a band performing back there tonight.

For drinks I had a can of Bud Light as a result of the server misunderstanding what I asked for, a lemon drop shot, and a cocktail but I forgot to write down which one it was.

Scooter’s 1862nd bar, first visited in 2025.

The first of three stops on a NYE rural Michigan bar crawl. I’d seen this bar on previous Michigan vacations but this was the first opportunity to stop in.

This bar has a pool table and a claw machine, and serves food. While a dive bar, they do carry some local/regional craft beer.

My visit to the men’s room confused me at first. Opened the door to find myself in a tiny little room with a sink. The actual restroom was through another door beyond that.

I had Raspberry Fudgie (oatmeal stout) by Big Lake Brewing.
