Unfortunately, at least on this day, several of the taps were out, Of those that were left, a couple were duplicates and a couple more were boring standard mass-produced domestics. So for all practically purposes it was really more like “10 Taps” for my visit. (They do have food, though.)

I had a Cinnamon Maple Stout by Six Mile Bridge Brewing, and a Vanilla Porter by Breckenridge Brewery.

Scooter’s 1726th bar, first visited in 2023.

This is a large, dark-finished, multi-room establishment with a bar that pokes through a wall to serve the two main rooms. There’s an outdoor courtyard with a stage and lots of tables, and through the back is a separate (but attached) building with the main indoor stage where a band was getting set up.

For the gentlemen: the restroom in the main bar is for micturition (aka #1) only. You walk down a hall lined with dictionary definitions for various states of inebriation, then enter an elegantly-decorated room with a single wall-length outside trough. “If you need to make use of a cubicle” as the bartender so delicately put it (aka “make poopies”), THAT men’s room is in the back building where the main stage is.

From looking at the web site, it seems I visited fewer than half of the various rooms and buildings that make up this venue.

I had a Guinness and then warmed/yellowed the ice before I left.

The bartender told me that some of the items were brewed with a yeast strain the brewmaster developed and named after his cat. (Or something like that, I was pretty buzzed by that point.)

I had the Esoteric Arcanum Vol. IX (Mead finished on vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and plums) and the Complicated Game (imperial stout).

After the list of all their items brewed in-house, Stag as the only guest tap cracked me up.

Scooter’s 1723rd bar, first visited in 2023.

This is a massive multi-room / multi-level Irish bar. It had a pool table, and the east half of the building was more of a restaurant feel.

I was nearly fooled by the eather confusing men’s room sign. (I also noticed the men’s room had an odd transparent partition separating the urinals from the sink… seemed kinda pointless.)

I had a Hershey’s Chocolate Porter by Yuengling Brewery.

This brewery seems to be well known for its pizza, but I had already eaten so didn’t get to give that a shot.

I had the Elmer IPA, the Blue Sky Blonde, the Southern Cross (New Zealand IPA), and the Brown Ale.

Finally, today, after 4 drive-bys working up the nerve, I parked and went inside.

What I found was a nice little dive bar full of very friendly and polite people, and a very pleasant bartender.

The wall behind the slightly-curved bar is plastered with yellowed old dollar bills. Three cafeteria-style tables provide overflow/group seating. Just beyond the pool table was a buffet table with several simmering crock pots. The remainder of the small, smoky space is occupied by a juke box and a couple of video poker machines.

I heard that they sometimes have a band in, though the space is so small I can’t possibly imagine where they would set up.

The lounge is pretty big and can easily seat dozens of people. There’s pool tables and a jukebox. I didn’t notice a stage, but I was getting tired and didn’t look around a whole lot.

The bartender was very nice and knew everyone’s name (except mine). For a Saturday night it was unusually quiet, he mentioned that the previous Saturday it had been packed wall to wall.

I don’t know what it would be like in there when it’s THAT busy, but I had a nice relaxing time hanging out there with the 18 or so people present.

Scooter’s 706th bar, first visited in 2010.

There’s two rooms. The larger main room where the L-shaped bar is located is decorated in black and has a big screen TV, pool tables, Golden Tee, and several video poker type machines. Then, facing the street, is a much brighter side room (brighter due to the large windows) with several tables and another pool table. The dozen or so customers were all over in the main room.

Karaoke seems to be the big thing here, there’s a weekly karaoke contest on Friday nights.

Scooter’s 705th bar, first visited in 2010.

I was helped by two different bartenders during my visit, both of whom were friendly and had a good sense of humor. The L-shaped bar was clean and comfortable. Beer was available on tap, and drinks were cheap.

The layout of the space is unusual, but very clever. The front half divides into the bar area and the table-seating area / game area. (Darts, and in a first for me for for any bar I’ve been too — sit-down arcade racing games.) The back-half splits into the restrooms to one side and the pool tables room on the other side. In the center is a stage. It is separated from all the areas of the bar, yet at the same time is open to and visible from every location.

A good sized outdoor area is also available, though I didn’t check that out.

One other thing I enjoyed — the restrooms are painted in chalkboard paint. There is chalk available on the sink so you can leave your (temporary) mark for posterity.

The crowd was about an equal mix of bikers and middle-aged people.

The decor, while bordering on gimmicky, is whimsical enough to be amusing. (I particularly enjoyed the upside-down Christmas Tree on the ceiling.)

The bar has one pool table and a setup for live music in the front. As much as was in here it should have been crowded and claustrophobic, but it wasn’t. They make good use of their space.

This is definitely a bar I’ll be back to on future visits to the town.

The tiled, horseshoe-shaped bar was filled with middle aged an older people, as one would expect this time of day. The cavernous interior of brick and concrete made it loud with even just a dozen patrons, so the somewhat timid bartender was very hard to hear.

The bar’s entertainment includes pool tables, some sort of video poker type games, a jukebox, and a stage for live entertainment.

From talking to others, it seems this bar draws some its patrons from up to 40 miles away.
