Cinemark VIP Room-The Palace, Kansas City

Located inside the movie theater, the bar is available to all guests (not just VIP Room ticket holders) but is located inside the ticketholders-only area.

Scooter’s 0th bar, first visited in 1989.

Longbranch Saloon, Kansas City

This sports bar was located in the dark, carpeted basement of the former Seville Square shopping mall, near the One Hour Photo and around the corner from the old Seville Square movie theater. It was a fun sports bar with good food, and had a sarcastic theme. “Home of the Meanest Waitresses in Kansas City” was the tagline, if I remember correctly.

I came here several times in college, both before and after I was of legal drinking age. I am numbering this as “Bar 0″ and not including it in the total count because I cannot remember if I ever actually had a beer or other adult beverage here. Nonetheless, it is part of my bar history so it does deserve mention.
