Scooter’s 1811th bar, first visited in 2024.

Half brewery, half wine bar, this place opened (I believe) around the end of last year.

I opted for the beer side of the menu and had a flight consisting of Oktoberfest, My Milkshake (raspberry blonde ale), Coffee Stout, and Firecracker IPA.

These flight trays are cute, but were a nightmare for my vision-compromised companion to get his glasses in and out of.

Jowler Creek Vineyard & Winery

Scooter’s 1537th bar, first visited in 2022.

The last stop of the day was this winery several miles north of Platte City. (Despite the Platte City address, it’s actually just outside the ton of Camden Point.)

Indoor seating was a bit limited, but there was a wide expanse of outdoor seating options and nearby everybody was outside this evening.

We did a wine tasting here, consisting of everything listed in the second photo below. We were also treated to a bonus taste of a wine not on the list, though sadly I don’t remember what it was.

You don’t see EV charging stations at places like this too often, but I think it will become more common especially at establishments that are this far out in the country.

The Pool Hall

Scooter’s 539th bar, first visited in 2009.

We actually came to Platte City expecting to visit Outlaws, but we found that place long gone (it’s something else now) but The Pool Hall was open right next door.

We had a seat at the rustic wooden bar, designed to look sort of like a stable or maybe a blacksmith shoppe. Behind us some gentlemen were playing poker at the tables, and far in the back were a couple of pool tables. We were offered menus, but I had already eaten and B wasn’t quite ready to eat yet.
