Scooter’s 1845th bar, first visited in 2025.

Came across this place while out for an afternoon drive during a camping trip. They make theirt own wines and ciders on site. I tried four of each and bought several wines and ciders to-go.

This place feels more like a wine bar than a winery, primarily because at least at the time of our visit they only had two of their own wines available and the rest were wines from around the world.

The building has a cutely-decorated indoor tasting room, and a patio wraps around the front at the southwest end of the building with a handful of tables covered and most of them out in the open.

I had a flight consisting of the two of their wines they had available (Missouri Moscato and Weston Red) plus a Chocolate Port by The Chocolatier (Australia).

Pirtle Winery

This winery tasting room is located on the second (main) level of an old church. There’s outdoor seating on a deck around back.

We did a wine tasting. For my tasting I had the Weston Bend Rosé, Effervescent Blueberry, Blackberry Mead, Raspberry Mead, and Premium Port.

Holladay Distillery

Scooter’s 1533rd bar, first visited in 2022.

This was a very cool find that I’ve probably driven past dozens of times and never noticed. The tasting room is inside a mansion, there is also a covered patio and completely-outdoor seating as well.

I had two cocktails: Summer of Espresso and Historical Register Manhattan.

RJ’s Bar

Scooter’s 542nd bar, first visited in 2009.

This was a charming downtown dive. The main room was much smaller than I expected from the outside. Later I noticed an additional room, with games, located past a swinging door that I had mistaken for an employees-only area.

Music Box Saloon

This is another one that mapping sites get wrong. In fact if you were on my TD’s Bunkhouse map & info page above and then clicked the link on that to Music Box, the mapping tool would give you directions taking you half a mile away. Actually it’s just across the same gravel parking lot.

This place was big, and obviously catered to live bands and dancing. At not quite noon, though, we were the only people in there.

B noticed this doorknob to nowhere, evidently a door that at some point was converted into a window:

The upper wall of the bar area was lined with classic vintage beer cans. One in particular caught my eye:

TD’s Bunkhouse

I must have driven past this place several times and never noticed it, it’s well hidden from the main road. Most online mapping services get the location wrong (it’s correct in my map link above, though) so it took some serious online sleuthing to find the real location before heading up this way.

Situated at the far end of a huge gravel lot, this place looks smaller than it actually is. Inside the bar area is in the front, while the back half has tables, games, and a small stage area for bands.

O’Malley’s Irish Pub

Scooter’s 224th bar, first visited in 2007.

Irish bar located underground in a series of old ammunition bunkers.

There’s three major underground rooms. The main bar is in a large 2-level room with a stage. There’s a smaller room on the other end of the cave used for overflow and private parties, with a third room further underground beyond that.

Hosts the larges Irish festival in the region and brews their own beer.
