Scooter’s 1047th bar, first visited in 2014.

I’ve seen this place a couple of times before while driving between Memphis and Kansas City, so I’ve been curious about it for a while. Though it looks rustic, I had always assumed it was a relatively new place deliberately manufactured to look like a dive. I was wrong about that, this is the real deal.

The bartender seemed a little wary of us and scrutinized our IDs very closely before serving us.

There’s darts, pool tables, a stage decorated with records and guitars, a dance floor decorated by a wall hanging of metal masks, and lots of other interesting decor. Of particular interest is the “rock” garden out front that from a distance appears to be full of pebbles but is actually thousands of beer bottle caps.
