Scooter’s 1719th bar, first visited in 2023.

We decided our next bar was close enough to walk to, so we set out on foot passing a new fancier places along the way. But this was still dive bar time.

The Sociable is a bit, uh, unusual. A very interesting décor. Honestly, it’s easier to just say “look at the pictures” rather than try to describe it.

I had a Bud bottle.

When we left here it was brewery time again. We decided that the next stop was too far to try to walk so we got the second worst Uber driver I’ve ever had to take us. I’m honestly not sure how she didn’t crash the car getting us there.

This was an unplanned stop, but it was literally right next door so it would have been dumb to not drop in.

Unfortunately we were not getting a good vibe here. I don’t know if he was doing it consciously or not, but the bartender was talking trash about where we were from and made a few racist remarks, so we finished our beer quickly and left.

I had either a Bud bottle or a Coors draft, this place was not on unTappd so I was unable to do a check-in to record it.

Joe’s Duck Inn

After the morning breweries it was time for a dive bar break. If I had realized the route our Uber would take we might have planned things differently, as we ended up starting out going south before west and drive right past three bars we really wanted to see. But we decided to stay committed to the plan we’d set.

This place is a lot bigger than it looks, with a separate half containing pool tables and other games — plus an actual phone booth.

We had a lot more fun here than we were expecting too, chatting it up with the bartender and other customers while blowing most of our cash on pull tabs.

I had a Budweiser bottle.

One great unanswered question: If this us the Duck Inn, then why is it on Millard instead of Mallard?
