Scooter’s 1866th bar, first visited in 2026.
This was our favorite bar that we found on this trip. Located in a building that used to be a hostel / boarding house, the bar and restaurant takes up the entire ground floor. Around back is a tiki bar that can be opened up (literally) when the weather allows. Currently that aspect is seasonal (warm months only), but the owner is working on getting it heated so it can be used throughout more of the year.
The owner is a breast cancer survivor with a fascinating and inspiring story. She bought full ownership not long ago and has already put a lot of work into renovations. Her future plans are to renovate the former guest rooms upstairs into vacation rentals.
This bar is known for its food, its cocktails and Bloody Marys, and for sing-it-at-your-seat karaoke that is available by request.
I has a Christmas Cookie cocktail, a mini beer, a Widow Maker (black ale) by Keweenaw Brewing, and a Black & Tan by Yuengling.
